Rock Band's DLC platform has been mostly rewarding. Mostly. Harmonix has really stepped up as far as delivering good, diverse musical experiences. The flipside being Activision's Guitar Hero III, which seems to have missed the point.
Harmonix recently announced that they've hit the 6 million mark for Rock Band downloads, which means they're making a nice bit of change with the service, even after licensing and recording fees. They've created a self-sufficient platform for content that makes the need for a yearly Rock Band sequel highly impractical. Activision, in true form, plans to whore out the GH franchise as if it were Vivian fucking Ward.
I'm not sure where I'm going with this, but I think it's safe to say Harmonix wins steak.
